Refunds/Returns/Cancellations
Last updated: 21 September 2025
1. Made-to-Order Products & Perishability
All our baked goods are freshly made to order. Because of the perishable nature of our products, we do not accept returns, cancellations or refunds after an order has been placed, except where required by law (for example, if the goods are faulty or not as described).
2. When there is a problem
If you receive an order that is incorrect, damaged or faulty, please:
-
Notify us within 24 hours of delivery or collection, whichever occurs later.
-
Provide your order reference, and clear photographic evidence of the issue and/or the damage.
-
We will review each case individually and may offer a replacement or refund, depending on the nature of the problem.
3. What “unsatisfactory quality” means
“Unsatisfactory quality” covers issues such as goods that are damaged, spoiled, incorrectly made, or not matching the description or photo provided on the site. It does not include issues due to misuse, improper storage after delivery/collection, or changes of mind.
4. Resolution times
-
We will respond to your complaint within 48 hours of your contact.
-
If a replacement or refund is agreed, we will process this within 5 business days, using the same method of payment originally used.
5. Liability limitation
Our liability for any claim shall not exceed the cost of the goods ordered. Made by Meg Bakery is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss.
6. Cancellations before production
We do not accept cancellations once an order has been placed. Production is considered to begin immediately upon order confirmation.
7. Consumer rights
These terms do not restrict your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including your rights regarding faulty or mis-described goods.
8. Exception / force majeure
If we are unable to fulfil your order due to events beyond our control (such as supplier failure, illness, fire, or other emergency), we will notify you as soon as possible and offer a refund or agree an alternative.
